ONLY GOD KNOWS

Just trying to get out of the dumps with the passing of my sister-in-law Melinda last week. Thanks to all of you who brought me flowers and sent me cards.....The flowers at the top of my blog page are just a sampling of the incredible flowers at her service...I took it upon myself to dismantle a few of the decorations before I left the service...I know she would have wanted me to have them....I will work on something creative to do with them in her honor...

Sometimes I think the best thing anyone can say is simply I am sorry...because we know she is in a better place , but we would still like her here with us... we know she is no longer suffering but why did she even have to suffer at all.....we know God never gives us more than we can handle....but our hearts are still broken...her home here on earth is still empty....we know that God has a purpose for this that we will understand later....

My last post was about attitudes and opportunities...there has got to be an opportunity here somewhere in all this sadness....I will find it ...

Only God knows...

I knew this post was going to make me cry. I am so sorry...

CS Lewis said, about grief, that there are some questions that don't have answers, like "what is the shape of yellow?", or "how many minutes is a mile?" What we CAN know, is that it wasn't for nothing - even while wishing there had been another way.

Love you, Amy! I am still praying for you and your family.

Your faith and optimism inspire me, Amy! And you are right: There is nothing to say except "I'm sorry" for those precious hurting ones she left behind. On earth, we only see the back side of the tapestry God is creating - the side with all of the knots and snarls. Her current viewpoint must be amazing!

I'm still praying!

I've never heard of that book. But, if you recommend it, I'll read it. What's it about?

Praying for you today...

I found you via Gracious Goodness and when reading your entry I got a tear in my eye. In so many ways I understand how you are feeling. Come of for a visit and see my entry called, A Garden Made in Memory of Donna. This was my way of honoring her and having a special place to remember.
